For reasons I won't go into here, I've decided to rename this journal. From now on, I'm petunia_bowl.

"Another thing that got forgotten was the fact that against all probability a sperm whale had suddenly been called into existence several miles above the surface of an alien planet.

And since this is not a naturally tenable position for a whale, this poor innocent creature had very little time to come to terms with its identity as a whale before it then had to come to terms with not being a whale any more.

This is a complete record of its thoughts from the moment it began its life till the moment it ended it.

Ah … ! What’s happening? it thought.

Er, excuse me, who am I?

Why am I here? What’s my purpose in life?

What do I mean by who am I?

Calm down, get a grip now … oh! this is an interesting sensation, what is it? It’s a sort of … yawning, tingling sensation in my … my … well I suppose I’d better start finding names for things if I want to make any headway in what for the sake of what I shall call an argument I shall call the world, so let’s call it my stomach.

Good. Ooooh, it’s getting quite strong. And hey, what’s about this whistling roaring sound going past what I’m suddenly going to call my head? Perhaps I can call that … wind! Is that a good name? It’ll do … perhaps I can find a better name for it later when I’ve found out what it’s for. It must be something very important because there certainly seems to be a hell of a lot of it. Hey! What’s this thing? This … let’s call it a tail – yeah, tail. Hey! I can can really thrash it about pretty good can’t I? Wow! Wow! That feels great! Doesn’t seem to achieve very much but I’ll probably find out what it’s for later on. Now – have I built up any coherent picture of things yet?

Never mind, hey, this is really exciting, so much to find out about, so much to look forward to, I’m quite dizzy with anticipation …

Or is it the wind?

There really is a lot of that now isn’t it?

And wow! Hey! What’s this thing suddenly coming towards me very fast? Very very fast. So big and flat and round, it needs a big wide sounding name like … ow … ound … round … ground! That’s it! That’s a good name – ground!

I wonder if it will be friends with me?

And the rest, after a sudden wet thud, was silence.

Curiously enough, the only thing that went through the mind of the bowl of petunias as it fell was Oh no, not again. Many people have speculated that if we knew exactly why the bowl of petunias had thought that we would know a lot more about the nature of the universe than we do now.”

Disclaimers: Not mine. Auntie’s. Although if David Tennant wants to come round to argue the point, I’d have no objections!

Characters: Tenth Doctor, Donna Noble (Ten/Donna)

Rating: NC-17

Category: Smut - and hopefully some of the funny.

Spoilers: None, really, unless you don’t know who these characters are!

A/N: Written for the 2011 Secret Santa at doctor_donna, for bas_math_girl, who wanted ideally a D/D romance, in any shape, form, or rating; though I love 'naughtier' stuff. A jealous twist would be nice... Or a Dalek...

I’m afraid I didn’t manage the Dalek – but I hope the rest of it makes up for that!

Exactly how long have you wanted to get into my knickers?Collapse )

Disclaimers: Not mine. Auntie’s. Although if David Tennant wants to come round to argue the point, I’d have no objections!

Characters: Tenth Doctor, Donna Noble

Rating: PG

Category: Introspection, missing scenes, angst, large dollops of UST and a bit of romance.

Spoilers: Set throughout S4, so it’s full of ‘em if you haven’t seen it! (Plus the odd, tiny reference to a couple of my own fics)

A/N: I can’t lay claim to any recognisable dialogue – that’s down to people far more talented than I.

Believe it or not, this was actually the first Ten and Donna fic I ever started to write, so it's had a gestation period somewhat akin to that of an elephant!

Unbetaed, but with grateful thanks to canterlevi for her continual encouragement. As usual, I proof-read myself, so any mistakes are mine.

What is it about them and kitchens?Collapse )

Characters: Ten, Donna

Rating: G

Spoilers: None if you've seen The Runaway Bride

Word Count: 100

A/N: I've been a bit creatively challenged lately, despite having several half-finished fics siting here on my laptop. This isn't exactly breaking the creative drought, but hey - at least I finished something!

Response to the weekly Traveller's Tales Prompt at doctor_donna. No. 39 - doubt.

Characters: Ten, Donna

Category: Friendship

Spoilers: S4. Set sometime mid-series, after The Unicorn and the Wasp but before Silence in the Library.

A/N: This was inspired by a couple of passages in the novel Beautiful Chaos - one from the letter from Donna that Wilf reads at the end, and one from a scene where the baddie is taunting Donna about the Doctor’s previous companions.

If you’re a fan of Ten, Donna and Wilf, and you haven’t read it – why not? It’s easily one of the best of the new DW novels; it’s beautifully written and quite heartbreaking in places.

It was also sparked off by an old doctor_donna Weekly Drabble Challenge Prompt; #57 – favours.

Thanks to canterlevi for the chats and the read-throughs.

Other notes at the end.

Thanks go to zinke and canterlevi for their suggestions and encouragement.

Prompt: Doctor/Donna romance. The Doctor decides to take Donna out for a proper date (maybe as a surprise), but as usual, things get in the way. Kissage is encouraged. The fluffier the better. Post-fixit is even better.

Well, I’m not sure if this is what she had in mind, but I had fun anyway. Enjoy!

A/N: “Oh, no – we’re not a couple.” The pair did oft protest too much, methinks. I know it was supposed to be a running gag, but we all know there was a perfectly good reason Ten and Donna got mistaken for a couple so often. She took the piss out of him, he let her and they didn’t have sex. (Well, not on screen anyway!) How much more married can two people be?!

It's alright for you - you're probably used to it by now!Collapse )

Notes and disclaimers in Part One

Previously in Part Two

Despite his best intentions, he can’t help the low moan of pleasure the escapes his lips when she hits a particularly sensitive spot. He winces inwardly, but Donna shows no sign of having noticed, continuing to rub and knead and dig in with her thumbs, releasing the tension at the base of his neck. Then he feels her moving behind him - and there’s warm breath drifting across his skin and a strand of red hair draped over his shoulder… and he becomes aware that somewhere along the way, the tenor of Donna’s touch has changed, that her hands are moving across his skin in a manner that feels like a caress.

He swallows hard.

Yep. This is definitely one of those times when a libido is something he could have managed without.

She’s never let him get away with anything before and she’s not going to start now.Collapse )

Notes and disclaimers in Part One

Oh - ciché and mush alert!

Donna stops and turns round, shaking her head in mock-exasperation. “You don’t touch the kettle; you never touch the kettle. It’s like - the kettle is sacred or something.”

“There’s a reason for that!”

“Kettles are sacred in this part of the universe?”

“Nope,” he grins enthusiastically. “I like a nice cuppa.”

She tries – and fails – to suppress an answering smile and heads back towards where he’s sitting, now surrounded by wires, lumps of metal, knobs, bolts, bits of string and other things that she can’t even begin to find an approximation of a name for.

“You want a bacon sandwich an’ all?”

“Well,” he pulls a face, trying, Donna knows, not to look too keen. “If you’re offering…”

She has such a huge capacity for understanding and compassion – far greater than his own - and yet she rarely applies either to herself.Collapse )

A/N: I’m aware that this particular vein has been extensively mined – but this has been kicking around in my head for ages and wouldn’t leave me alone until I’d written it down.

Also – I set myself a bit of a challenge; to write something shippy without going completely out of character. Fingers crossed I’ve managed it.

With enormous thanks to zinke for checking it through for me, and to canterlevi and adriana_divolpe for their help and encouragement. As usual, I proofed it myself, so any mistakes are mine.

And so - he talks. Really talks, the way he does on those rare occasions Donna has come to value so highly, when they’re just - being together.Collapse )
